Destiny Scotland Apartments at Canning Street Lane

The place is great: clean, modern, spacious, nicely equipped (even with a small safe - like in a hotel!). Very easy to get to with a tram stop nearby. There is a storage room if you get there too early or need to leave hours before your next destination. However, there are couple things to know: - Unit 5 is on the second (European or third by US standards) floor without elevator (the stairs are very wide though) - There is not any coffee maker (like Nespresso or whatever with capsules) - There are no hooks close to the entrance to hang a wet or your winter coats - There are less than enough hooks in the bathroom close to the shower - There is not a single outlet in the bathroom for a hairdryer - The bathroom is very humid after a shower.

Nice Home Away From Home

Apartment had lots of room, was pristine, and exactly as pictured. It was enough space for my husband and I. The in unit washer/dryer was a bonus! Communication with reps was excellent.

Comfy place with all amenities. Great location to explore the city and short walk for parking.

Destiny Scotland Review

This place was perfect for our week stay in Edinburgh. It was close to all the excitement without hearing all the excitement. Gave us enough room to spread out after a long day of exploring. Very happy with our stay!

The apartment was clean and comfortable and located very close to the West End tram stop with several grocery stores within walking distance. The West End is an easy walk from many of the main attractions. It would be nice if the apartment had a few staples like olive oil, vinegar, and salt and pepper, etc. and something other than coffee sticks and a tiny stovetop espresso maker.

Huge apartment, great place to stay!

This flat was great, super clean and absolutely huge. The living room kitchen area is really big, as is the bedroom, the bathroom is good with a really great shower. Everything was super clean, plus they have a very clear recycling system which is great to see. The key code system for entry was super easy and clear, and the luggage room was really helpful and easy to access. Loved our stay!

Ich war vier Tage in der Unterkunft und war sehr zufrieden. Super mit der Tram vom Flughafen zu erreichen. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Zimmer waren alle sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Es war alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Zu empfehlen. Zudem war es auch ruhig.

Perfect place to stay while exploring Edinburgh, wish I could have spent a few more days.

Just perfect.

Fabulous 2 night stay in a 2 bed apt. There were 3 of us and it was just perfect. Loads of space and comfy beds to sleep in. We had a wee bit of difficulty finding it to start with and 2 flights of stairs (no lift) won’t suit everyone but it was fine for us. Excellent location - just off Shandwick Place and perfectly located for Murrayfield. 50% parking reduction at the NCP at Castle Terrace was the icing on the cake. Pricey but worth it I’d say. One small point - no microwave oven which might put some people off. Overall, wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Loved it.

An altogether great experience. Can really recommended this accommodation.

I don't even know where to begin. We were just so surprised on how beautiful the property was. It was very spacious and the furnishing is elegant. The customer service was amazing and very understanding - they have allowed us to have an early check-in as we arrived in Edinburgh earlier than expected, and they have also kindly allowed a late checkout. In the apartment, they have very clear instructions on how to operate everything around the house - the heating, washing machine dryer, dishwasher, the induction hob and the oven microwave. There was only very minor issues - the small saucepan was not recognized by the induction hob, and the knives were dull. But otherwise, it has all been great. The couch and bed were very comfortable. The closet space is huge. They also have a safe where you can store your important belongings. It is very near the tram and bus stops, which is very convenient. There were small groceries nearby. The walk to the old town is not too bad at all - around 15 minutes to Edinburgh castle. Hopefully they would allow pets soon, as they currently don't allow it. By far, we would definitely recommend! And we will not hesitate to book with them again. Thank you so much!

Very clean and comfortable. Great location amenities and size of property.

Lovely place. Spotlessy clean. Everything needed was provided. My only fault was communication, Emails took ages to be answered if they got answered at all. Would I stay again? Too right. I'm already looking to return in September sometime.

The area is so clean! But you can hear people talking from downstairs! Its quite noisy!

Was in Edinburgh for a conference and this place was an excellent location for being close to the conference centre. The apartment was well furnished, clean and tidy. However I couldn't get any good night sleep in my entire stay. The windows and the bedroom door were making very distressful clicking sounds due to wind escaping through the window frames and the noise level arising from street was another thing to coop with. Wan't quite happy for the price I've paid. Maybe not ideal for the one who are too sensitive to the noises.

clean, big and modern apartment only 5 minute walk from princes street. Staff at office could have been more helpful when enquiring about early check in but otherwise an amazing stay!

Well presented and comfortable apartment

Comfortable apartment with all conveniences. Clean and well presented. Reasonably good location and walking distance to Edinburgh's main attractions. The only issue we had was with the internet connection which was weak and kept dropping off especially in the evenings and when we asked about it we were told that it could be our devices as other guests didn't report an issue. As we had been travelling the whole time and using wifi connections at other hotels, we knew that it was not our devices.

Excellent location, clean and comfortable

Excellent locality just a few minutes walk from Princes Street. Easy access, very comfortable and clean. Slight issue with central heating smart thermostat locking out on our 3rd evening, but call to Destiny Scotland (luckily before 7pm when they close) got it unlocked so we could turn the temperature up. Some noise from vehicles driving along the cobbles outside early on a morning but nothing excessive.

Clearly some outstanding maintenance issues within the flat. Single glazed bedroom window with 20 people sleeping rough outside it doesn’t allow for much sleep!

Loved this property- would book it again! Coffee and toast relaxing, very relaxing!! Centrally located and so many comforts!!

Beautiful apartment. Absolutely spotless and great quality furnishings. Perfect for a stay in Edinburgh or for business trips. Would highly recommend. Only slight fault is that it can be a little loud as I think it is only single glazed and the passing street is cobbled.

Great service. I forgot a blazer which had belonged to my late mother. The cleaning staff went back to find it and delivered to the office. The office staff called me the minute it was found

The management Did not make consideration for an early check in even for 1 hour, although the room was already ready for occupancy. And we had to wait outside the apartment, so cold, waiting for the last second. And we were so tired after the long travel.

Great location & spacious, but mis-advertised

This apartment is in a great location, very easy to walk to Princes St. & the Old Town, and also conveniently close to Sainsburys, Pret & Caffe Nero. We stayed over the weekend, and there was free on-street parking on the nearby roads from Friday evening until Monday morning which was very handy. The apartment itself is spacious and in great condition but it didn't have soul. It could have done with some homely touches, and for the price we would have also expected some basic additions e.g. Kleenex, extra towels, blanket etc., It was advertised as having a King Size bed, and this was not true, it was in fact a double bed. We complained to Hotels.com and twice they told us that someone from Destiny Scotland would call us back regarding this, but no-one did... very poor customer service.

Great location, modern feel but no A/C

Overall had a very good stay. Location is fantastic close to the EICC, Princes St and Edinburgh castle. Check in was confusing because there is a sister property at 2 Canning St, which is where my GPS took me. Room was spacious and clean but smelled strongly of Indian food from a former tenant and was very warm upon arrival. No A/C and no one opened windows to let the room air out before my arrival. A couple of comfort things such as sheets on the bed instead of just a duvet and enough door stops to keep the doors open between rooms for air flow would be great. Also no elevator so lots of stairs if you are on the top floor.
