Locale Medical Center - Houston

Be careful with Locale. They didn’t respect our booking, blaming Expedia for double booking. The people at the call center is rude, unhelpful and they don’t bother to give a solution. We found out at the check in and had to find a place to stay.

We loved our stay and felt right at home.

A great home away from home

I stayed here for an extended medical trip and it was perfect. I really appreciated the privacy, comfort, and convenience. Not too mention the beautiful pool.

Great, great little apartment super close to MD Anderson. The only thing is the scents/fragrance were super strong in the lobby.

The property was overall great. The inability to get things quick and easy is a downfall. Our bathroom didn’t have cold water and the plumbing in the shower was loose and rickety.

There was no water in the refridgerator even though the fridge can make water and ice. That was truly disappointing. The room was also advertised with a balcony even but sadly that wasn't the case. At the very end of the stay I received a message from management claiming I did not return the key after the check out to the lock box. I assured them that was not the case because I followed the instructions in the text regarding check out and returning the key to the lock box. Management or a team member who claimed to have checked the lock box clearly lied, Because after I told them to check again, I received a message that it was in fact return to the original box. That was slighty frustrating because they shouldve have checked prior to accusing the paying customer of not following clear instructions.

Great place

The apartment was very nice. The property was well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Pillows need to be replaced, but not a big deal. Only disappointment was I was suppose to have a balcony and this particular unit did not.

Place is awsome and a great area, easy freeway acess and amenities are wonderful. The views anr breathtaking as well.

The stay was ok. Apartment was clean. The apartment was cold the day of check in then after that it was very uncomfortable making it hard to get dressed before going out or before going to sleep at night. It would be helpful to have some type of communication book to let the guest that’s renting know where the amenities are within the building.

Nice amenities and very clean apartment. There was an issue with the closet however they asked me for pictures and were overall accommodating. I wish there were more items stocked in the kitchen for use when making my own meals but overall it was a great stay. Would definitely look to stay another property of theirs when I travel.

Nice space but the kitchen had bugs. They went to check while I was out and said they didn’t see any and didn’t do anything to correct it like use bug spray or change my room.

Overall beautiful views of city - 12 foot ceilings all glass living room. No TV's in bedrooms! So, our remote went bad, no TV until next day, they didn't seem to know that cleaning staff could just give me a new remote (I had to find this out on my own in hallway after many msgs). All "communications" are off-site, so plenty of msgs, but not really there to help if needed. Still, reasonably priced, great apartment right in Medical Area. Few restaurants in area, took Uber to eat, usually 3 - 8 miles away. Uber better as car rental $30 parking/day, & driving in Houston traffic not worth it. Uber usually 5 minutes away. I would stay there again.

Really surprised I found this property so close to MD Anderson. Location is a must when traveling to the hospital. Super clean, nice furnishings, balcony an added bonus, & the view from the 11th floor made a date nite perfect. Highly recommend. 1 item, have the key codes written down already or pulled up on your phone.

This property was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to the MD Anderson facility. The amenities are very nice. Great pool, patio, bbq grills, hot tub and a pool table. Apartment was furnished nicely. Kitchen only had 2 plates, 2 bowls and 2 salad plates. No serving bowls. Would be nice to have more place setting/ serving bowls. Glad to have a Washer and Dryer in the unit. Contact with booking staff was excellent and they responded to emails very quickly. I highly recommend this property.

Well for starters this was supposed to be a wonderful trip that I booked for my fiance's birthday.. I had specifically ordered an apartment with a balcony up off the ground and what did I get? Even though I set it up over a month and a half prior to? They put me in a filthy terrace level patio that had huge water bugs/roaches... The toilet had running water especially during "quiet time" it would be the worst kept running every 10 to 15 minutes loudly through the night and all day long We wanted to relax with the blinds open but wasn't able to do that because of the ground level patio was on the same as the swimming pool the trash room and everything else was I reached out via text and the response was great at first quick but really didn't really care about the fact that I had specifically asked for for things to be special over a month before and I spoke with someone that said we would be accommodated and we weren't it was truly disappointing I will definitely not stay here again

All around good stay

I really enjoyed my stay. The apartment was clean and spacious. The nice amenities. My favorite part was the pool and the gym. However, there’s not a lot of restaurants that are within walking distance. I would definitely stay again.

A Disastrous Start to Our Vacation Upon arrival at Locale, our excitement quickly turned into frustration and disbelief. After a long journey, we were greeted with the shocking news that there were no keys available for us. The locker was open and empty where they kept keys for guests. Despite having made our reservation well in advance, the staff seemed unprepared and disorganized, leaving us stranded without a room. What made the situation worse was the lack of empathy or assistance from the property management. Instead of offering a solution, we were bluntly told to look for other accommodations, which left us feeling abandoned and stressed at the start of our supposed vacation. The experience was not only inconvenient but also incredibly disappointing. It's unacceptable for guests to arrive only to find out they have nowhere to stay, especially without prior notification. This lack of professionalism and customer service has completely turned me off from ever booking with Locale Medical Center Houston again. For those considering staying here, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. The risk of having your travel plans thrown into chaos is too high. There are plenty of other properties that value their guests and understand the importance of reliable service.

This is my second time staying with The Locale.. I really enjoyed my stay. Everything was clean , and it was peaceful in a great location. I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back

We liked everything about this property! Clean & comfortable. Great clubhouse & pool area. Really nice people & safe area for walking. If you’re visiting the medical center it is very easy & inexpensive to take an Uber. Uber is much easier than parking in that area.

The apartment we were in had no TV in the bedroom, which, whatever, but it seemed odd for such a nice place. Hallway lights were motion-sensor and several were out, so it was really dark. The bathroom lights in the unit were working for 1/3 of the available lights. A closet door was broken. However, it was clean, albeit a little janky, the view was pretty good, the people in the lobby were friendly, as were the residents. The building and its pool/jacuzzi/deck area was nice, but we were never given instructions on how to access that. It seems like they are advertising it, but then don't really give you the door codes - maybe, unless you ask directly? I would stay there again, I suppose, but would love access to all amenities.

Great stay! Clean, spacious, conveniently located, very secure all at a very reasonable price.

Several steps to contactless check in but none overly complicated, more just use common sense and follow the steps they send via text. Parking was on site in deck, secured by large doors and requiring fob to enter so felt secure. We did not use amenities onsite but looked around and they seemed clean and inviting: Actual unit had VERY firm mattress which we found very uncomfortable but recognize this is a preference. A TV in the bedroom would be an inexpensive upgrade with great value added. Carpet in bedroom appeared worn and not the cleanest, bathroom floor grout could use a steaming and the shower curtain was a disaster (wouldn’t stay on hooks) but nothing so bad that we wouldn’t stay again if in the area. We arrived late and only food option was a McDonalds a mile or two away. In the daytime there is much more available, plenty of variety. As it is in the area of many hospitals there were sirens many times but area felt safe. Several reviews said walking distance to MDA or TX Children’s but I think that would depend on destination and weather—definitely too hot in June and August when we visited for a lengthy stroll. All in all, we’ll definitely have this property on our list for return visits.

We were only given one access key to the room which was very limiting and inconvenient.

Beautiful

This property is amazing! I had to stay in Houston for surgery and the apartment has all the comforts of home plus all the extras of a resort. Isiah at the front office is so nice and helpful. It was 4 minutes from hospital so no stress in driving. HEB is right up the road as well. We cooked on the very nice, clean outdoor grilling area by the pool and lounged in the cabana. I will definitely stay here again for even just a weekend getaway. It was perfect place for perfect price!

Great location with view

My condo was very clean and spacious, the bed was over my expectations for comfort and my view was amazing. Will definitely be coming back to this location.

The property was wonderful. The only thing is the air conditioning either didn't really get cool enough or I just couldn't figure out how to work it!

Great room & amenities, but miscommunication

The room I had was amazing, with a decent view of hermann park. the room was not ready when I got there it was being cleaned which to me wasn’t an issue the operation manager showed me around the building and he seemed cool, I grabbed food and it was ready when I got back I wasn’t even gonna bring it up but the issue I had was on my checkout date the day prior I had requested a late check out which was a $50 and I was okay with it, around noon the operation manager came in telling me I had to leave because I was way past my checkout time I explained to him I requested a late checkout so he left, then came back and said I did not, While trying to explain what happened he decided to threaten me and tell me things will get ugly if I’m not out of the room by 1pm and just walked out while I was talking which made me feel very disrespected. I had to make some calls and I guess someone forgot to note I had a late checkout. The whole situation was escalated just because of a misunderstanding on the managements end. oh and there was no gas or hot water on my final date but I do understand that’s out of their control. Nice room and I would recommend it but use caution since apparently “things can get ugly”.

We were here for dr visits. Very close to medical center. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We felt very safe.

Very spacious and great view of city.

Clean, comfortable, easy check in, quiet, good gym. The pool looks nice but it wasn't pool weather. Be aware that parking is an expensive extra which I find ridiculous in this location. A few items were missing/lacking from the kitchen, one of the bowls, a corkscrew and a can opener. It was not obvious who to notify about this. Nothing vital but a little annoying. Several mornings the 7th floor coffee machine was either out of beans or not working. We would consider staying again when in Houston.

Medical Patients BEWARE

Very nice apt, clean grounds. No Locale rep on site - apparently several mgmt groups. Access overly complicated. SHOULD NOT be recommended to medical patients - they aren't remotely geared for it. No shuttle. Mixed review on staff - everything from surly to smooth operator. Never again

It was very cozy and very convenient to the hospital. I was very pleased with the early and late accommodation. The only complaint would be water pressure and taking care of scratches and marks in the apartment. I wouldn't want no one to be blame for previous stay.

Local was an excellent apartment to stay at in Houston Amenities were great!! Area is all hospitals with not very many restaurants or stores. Best to have a car.

I want to send a special thank you to the management company for your prompt communication and assistance. The apartment was fantastic, much better than a hotel, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our visit.

Area was very nice. Room was clean and nice. Instructions were ambiguous and parking is difficult and the only staff appeared to be for future residents and not for temporary stays. I paid for parking but I didn't get a parking pass initially so I didn't even use the garage the 1st night. Also my main reason for choosing this facility was the fitness center which was closed for renovations. This should have been noted prior to my booking as I would not have stayed. An unforseen issue I could understand but renovations are planned and should be communicated.

Every time I come to Houston I stay here

Absolutely loved staying here! The apartment and view was amazing. Parking was extremely easy. Super close to everywhere in the city. Will definitely stay here every-time I come to Houston!

Frustrating process to gather access to the building with no signage and then trips up and down the elevator to retrieve the parking pass, then, back to the car to actually park. Overall area was nice. Some issues as you can see in pics below. Communication on check out was delayed and unclear.

Maximum security but very pleasant

Like any apartment complex set up, there were an extreme amount of codes and buzzing in for the garage, the apartment, the pool, etc. a bit taxing when you’re traveling with small children. Other than that, AWESOME place. Pool was gorgeous.

This was a fantastic place to stay close to Rice University! The pool was great to use in the hot summer afternoons!

Appartement très bien équipé disposant d’un parking sur place, d’une salle de sport, piscine, salle de jeu etc… Lumineux avec beaucoup d’espace et lave linge et sèche-linge! Parfait pour faire une halte. Proche de Muséum District et de Montrose: quartiers d’intérêt à Houston. Seul bémol: le quartier étant celui du médical center, hélicoptères et ambulances au rdv non stop!

I loved the property. Great staff, great building. Only minor complaints were the slow drain in the bath tub and the closet light not working. Other than that the property was amazing.

The property was lovely, a great idea in a fabulous location. Our trip had the built on anxiety of my husband’s pending planned admission to hospital and my staying in town for the week. As older adults we were not ready for virtual registration with so many codes and hoops to jump through. While I’m still working remotely I still like human contact.

Unsafe and unclean.

I arrived to a room with a broken toilet. I was moved to a second unit that was not cleaned when I walked in, I was then moved to a third unit that was also not cleaned. I stayed with a friend overnight. The next day, they had me go back to the second room which was still dirty, but I had nowhere to go as the hotel wouldn’t cover me staying somewhere else. Around 8 pm, a Locale team member tried intruding into my room using a door code, despite me yelling that someone was inside. I contacted the hotel, who wouldn’t find me alternate housing but instead told the team member I had been scared and he RETURNED to my room. Absolutely never staying with this company again. UNSAFE and unclean.

The property was amazing and the service was excellent. They quickly responded to all my inquiries and really seemed to care about our experience.

One of the best places to stay in Houston

It was great and clean! The apartment was well put together and someone was available at all times of night from management to address any issues. Best area of the city to be in. I only issue were the keyfobs not always working. Other than that I would def stay here again!

Perfect spot for us.......

Our stay was perfect here. The place was spotless, well stocked kitchen , washer and dryer and a lovely deck. The bedding was very comfortable. And an easy walk to MD Anderson.

Wonderful Stay

fell short in important ways

Although the physical facilities were excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, very nice room and a nice view, two other issues precluded a better review. First, check-in. We arrived at 3 pm on 1/23 for a medical procedure. Fortunately, we took care of blood work before trying to check in because we had to wait 90 min. to enter our room, in spite of being reassured the dealy would only be a few minutes. Chris, the on-site agent did his best to apologize for the incident, including providing us with a bottle of wine and chocolates. Thank you, Chris Second, internet acces was spotty, at best, throughout the stay; we repeatedly had to shut off and turn on the TVs to resume viewing-often for only about 20 min. before we had to repeat. Michael, the tech support contact was professional, but his hands were tied in trying to resolve the issue. Because the potential of this rental was not realized I could not offer a better review.

Great location for Med Center visit

Beautiful spotless apartment. The key-fobs were a bit of an issue. A resident was able to give some pointers on getting them to work.

Good choice

A good little apartment near park, zoo, museums, and hospital. Can be a little complicated to figure out the steps for entering the tower, parking garage, elevator, and front door. But comfy inside.
