Recomendado, cerca a la playa

Adecuado, cómodo, limpio, sin embargo no hacen arreglo de habitación diario. A solo pasos de la playa y a restaurantes. La piscina pequeña pero justa para descansar y pasar un buen rato.

Deberian de tener un internet con mas velocidad. Turistas completamente incomunicado debido a la señal y el pesimo servicio de intenet facilitado.

Servicio no muy aceprable

Se presentaron algunos inconvenientes. Aire condicionado no funcionó de mi cuarto. Me cambiaron dos veces de habitación. Trato no aceptable.una cerradura se ataco con un amigo dentro fue necesario que el dueño viniera a romper la cerradura.

No nos quedamos. No pudimos cancelar y perdimos los costos. No esta la par con previas reservaciones. Mas motel que hotel.

Nos gusto la limpieza. La piscina es grande y buena y limpia y tiene varias profundidades. Y el personal de seguridad siempre está ahí cuidando. También el personal de limpieza bien atento. Todo como lo prometido.

Aparta Hotel para negocios

El aparta hotel esta ubicado a 100mts de la playa, muy bonito y limpio, la cama no es buena, la sala, el balcón, la cocina y el baño son bien amplios y muy limpio. Esta apartado de los mini market pero hay servicio de Delivery. El lugar es muy seguro pero las calles están poco iluminadas. La playa es excelente y poco profunda ademas de que hay piscina en el hotel. No hay lobby. Para mi viaje de negocio fue excelente!!!

el wi-fi no es bueno

Muy bueno porque la playa esta cerca, como a 100 metros y el servicio al cliente excelente.Todo esta igual que las fotos.

Excelente ubicación

Muy buena experiencia. Como siempre el problema fue el wifi. Pero aparte de eso todo bien. La playa cercana es una gran ventaja. Realmente no hay parqueo, se estaciona uno en la calle . Pero hay vigilancia.

Playa sucia

La playa no merece la pena, estaba muy sucia, llena de vasos de plástico por todas partes. Hay sitios más bonitos. La urbanización Costambar tiene media docena de restaurantes pero no es muy atractiva, no tiene aceras y de noche es un poco oscura, aunque es tranquila. El mobiliario precisa una renovación, el sofá olía muy raro como a humedad. El personal fue amable, se puede dejar el vehículo en la puerta. Ofrecen bidones de agua por 50 pesos, lo cual está bien para una estancia de varios días.

Es proma que estoy teniendo depuesto de dejar el hotel que la persona llamada Juan y el otro que está por la mañana están molestando a mi companiera por favor hablen con ellos para que dejen de molestar le están mandando mensajes de testo muy indecentemente ok , eso no es bueno para el hotel como ahora voy a tener gana de volver .

Muy bien todo. Pero la cama era mala y se sentian los muelles. La playa no es buena, muchas piedrecitas y un poco sucia. Los apartamentos muy limpios y luminosos. muy amables

This property had the cheapest furniture imaginable. The kitchenette had very dated appliances and i was awaken by insects crawling over me while i was sleeping on my 1st night.

Wonderful property that’s clean right by the beach

It was a cheap price and right near the beach which was perfect for what I was looking for. The manager was nice and gave us extra toiletries and fixed our ac at request. Would recommend if just looking for a place that’s close to the beach

The staff was courteous helpful .The area is safe convenient quiet you get that home feeling.

Repeat customer

Sent a special request through for two extra pillows and a wine opener, which was sitting waiting for us when we got there. Once again, I will say the front desk staff are very play and nice gentleman.

Good for the price

Obviously, the price is fantastic. Front check-in guys whether it be morning or afternoon are both lovely gentlemen. The beds are terribly hard as well as the couch. Definitely need more than two pillows on the bed, Needs to have for as well as an extra blanket would be nice. Although there is a kitchenette, definitely need a little bit more of the basics like a can opener. Another must is drinking water. Even if you had some at the front check-in for purchase. It’s lovely how close to the beach it is as well as some nice restaurants like El Carey. Nice little corner store close to that restaurant to pick up whatever it is you need for great prices.

The property owner was very arrogant

Good point 1. Close to the beach (1 mins by foot) 2. Cheap (relatively) 3. Parking space 4. Warm water in the swimming pool. Bad point. 1. Old furniture and building (painting on the cieling kept falling down on bed..) 2. Only air condition in the room. (Kitchen and dining room was hot) 3. Old television (looks like 80th...)

Liked the location and the staff. Didn’t like the beds which weren’t very comfortable, the bedroom windows lacked privacy. Also no microwave or the oven didn’t have a stove. Some improvements could be done to make guests more comfortable

The shower did not work, I had to stoop down under the tap. There was no soap nor shampoo provided. I had to call to get the sink water flow fixed which was still very low after being fixed. I had to call them to fix the kitchen faucet, it took 2 days . Bed was small.

My wife and me are been staying there for over 6 years, some time for over 2 sees. I would highly recommend this place for couples, families and groups . About the staff is fair to saying they are very professional and friendly at same time. In fact I feel in debt with them because after all this years I should have done this review long time ago

Fantastic Staff! I forgot my laptop there and they retrieved it and held it for me. Steps from the beach.

Area outside the property was not very clean. Parking was very limited also. No coffee or any breakfast etc was available in the morning. Apartment was clean and attendant Mariano was nice and he was able to speak English.

The rooms are very clean and the bathroom has been upgraded. Very nice tile throughout. However, the beds and the bedding are terrible. The sheets do not stay on the bed and you find yourself on the bare mattress in the middle of the night. This could easily go from a 2 star hotel to a 3 star with mattress and bedding improvements.

Simple check in

Staff were not very welcoming or friendly. It was an okay stay for the money spent. If your looking for cheap its fine but not quality. Everything was very old and shower head barely worked. Water leaks in bathroom creates puddles. Very dusty fan the second i put it on my allergies kicked in. Again for the money spent its fine. not like it was expensive but we did consider leaving the next day...

Cozy, affordable and has all you need for a few days here. At night, not a lot to do around unless u jave transportation.

This is my second time staying at Costambar, the reason is because I love the way it is. Super easy check in, pool always clean and the beach is right in front of the property. The only issue was they are remodeling the furnitures and the old ones are still inside the apartment and over the stairs. Please remove them as soon as possible, Me and my wife love to stay there and definitely coming back.

My wife is very happy here we love the fact that we can cook are own food this quiet and friendly place gives you nature experience walking distance to the beach lots of trees 🌳 and most importantly safe my wife and i stayed once 2 years ago and every time we go to dominican republic dosent matter what resort we stay in or hotel are last stop is here to finish our vacation

Staff was very helpful

Honestly didnt expect much but there were roaches every night. I understand its hard given the tropical environment but we were not pre-warned. Bed was uncomfortable. Note the A/C is only in the bedroom. Very close yo playa costambar which was our least favorite beach. Street is quiet as it is a private community but overall, very disappointing.

The property looks great, the service is great, very responsive, love the pool and the beach but The mattress is not that good.

1. Costambar is a gated community with their own pharmacy, market and taxi station. 2. Walking distance to fantastic beachfront restaurants. 3. Extremely short walk to the beach. Maybe 3 minutes walk. 4. Basically the gentleman at the office is like a conseir. 5. The apartment furniture is outdated but clean and good condition. Honestly we spend our time in the beautiful beach. 6. Teleferico (go around 3pm after cruise people leave and place is empty), Fort and Amber Museum is less than 2 miles driving or taxi. 7. Friendly and happy retirees galore.

I was on the ground floor and one of the windows would not lock. So I positioned a butter knife to fall in case someone tried to enter the window. I noticed a bench beneath the window also and the screen was torn.

Perfect place!

Costambar was easily the best hotel I was in on the entire island! It is in a cash only part of Puerto Plata. The room was exceptionally clean, has cheap drinking water 5 gallon bottles and pumps for your use, the balcony was great, the air conditioning and ceiling fans were perfect, the pool was clear and pleasant, staff were all friendly and it was 24 hour manned security even with the neighborhood already being safe. Uber works here, but many drivers will try to scam for extra money so tell them Uber app pay only and report them in the app. The restaurants are amazing along the beach and way cheaper than in Puerto Plata, the tide is gentile and perfect for swimming, beach chair service under palm shade is great too. I usually like to pay at the hotel, but I am so happy I took the chance on Costambar as it was affordable and after a couple day trips visiting Puerto Plata always found Costambar the perfect more quiet escape from the main busy tourist city. If I ever return to the DR, this is the 1 area and hotel I will for sure return to!

The location is far from the town, so you may be charged a lot for a taxi. Walk out of the property for about 5 minutes to the taxi station, which gives you a little more bargaining ability. Every single morning (we spent 3 mornings there), the water stopped. We couldn't brush teeth, wash faces, or flush the toilet. Very bright because there are basically no blinds. So bring a sleeping mask or something. One of the beds was okay. The other was so old and not maintained that it was completely concave and you could feel the springs VERY well. Probably the worst bed we've slept on, and trust me, we've been to some less than comfy places. All this being said, the price was not expensive. We get that you "get what you pay for" but we want others to go in understanding what they are getting. The lack of water was very unfortunate though.

Good cheap place for a quick stay. Dont expect much, but its a very good option, right across from the beach in a gated community. Very safe. Not ideal for long stays (no food included, no local area to eat only beach food which is always fish, delicious but sometimes u just want regular breakfast lol) perfect if you are bouncing from town to town (cofresi, costambar, PP, sosua, cabarete)

Besides the building looking good from the outside, the furniture was outdated, big stains on the sofa, very old gas stove and a very small bed in a small bedroom. We felt safe, though, and we enjoyed the residential area and the proximity to local restaurants, stores and the beach, which felt private and very natural, not "tourist orientated". It was, all in all, good value for the money.

Good place, good location, friendly staff. Nice value for price. Beach is close by. Only dislike is that the bed has a wooden base that is quite noisy when you get in and out of bed and difficult to not disturb your partner.

Ok stay

An ok stay everything very dater and old but for the price it was ok the staff were great and quick to reply with anything required shower wasn’t very powerful the bed was not very comfortable but as a base to go out and about it was ok

I went on a business trip. For tourists that look for a chip vacation and local culture it is an ideal place. the beach is a half block away, there are restaurants rirht there. the pharmacy, grocery store, hair salon and store are a few blocks away. Sterling on the reception was very helpful and kind. The mattress on my bed was old and bumpy and was advertised as a 2bedroom 2 bathroom apt. They only have 1 bathroom on any number of bedrooms.

Diabolical Behaviour By Manager

On the morning I left, the manager offered to call me a "cheap taxi" (no doubt from whom he would receive some commission). I told told him that I had ordered an Uber. He said that Uber was not allowed to collect from Costambar. I said I had confirmation the car was on its way from the App. The manager then called 3 of the local taxi mafia drivers who blocked in my Uber drive and refused to let him leave with me as a passenger. Absolutely shocking. I will not stay there again. If you wish to, do not tell the manager if you are departing by Uber but walk down to one of the beach bars and order one to pick you up from the street there as I then did.

Would go back if mattress is replaced

Place was cleaned, convenient, staff was great and spoke English. Literally on the beach. Pool was nice and warmed. Definitely needs new bed. Mattress was very uncomfortable.

i didn’t like it all was completely dirty without lights on the pool, the beds were uncomfortable and thick, the place and the beach were totally dirty.
