Wonderful and very welcoming hotel on the edge of the Rhodos old town, near the beach boulevard and on the walking distance of main shopping area. Hotel is clean and quiet, rooms are spacious, breakfast is very good as are all the other products delicious from their kitchen, the pool and bar area is such a nice and relaxing chill zone, not to mention the stuff is absolutely fabulous, special greetings to D&D! We really enjoyed our stay! Ps: always plenty of empty sunbeds at the pool and no rush anywhere at the hotel! Beautiful!

Lovely hotel, room very spacious and air conditioning really good. Cleaners in every day. Pool area really nice and always plenty of beds. Staff are so friendly, would definitely return.

Excellent location right on edge of Old Town - very good breakfast with very large choice (hot and cold items) - staff excellent - very quiet - stayed in Room 419 with great views over Old Town and harbour area - would definitely recommend

Excellent hotel for a stay in Rhodes Town

Really nice hotel, perfectly situated a short walk from the Old Town, ferry terminal and about 20/25 mins from Elli Beach. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great to have a sitting room and kitchenette and balcony. Breakfast buffet has something for everyone - only criticism is that the food could be hotter.

Athineon Hotel/ Rhodes

Hotel is very good. Clean with excellent service & staff. Suites are spacious. Location is superb. A few minutes walk to the old town center & port. However, bathroom needs renovation. It's 3.5 star hotel rather than 4

Loved our stay at the Athineon. In a great location next to the old town. Had a great view from our balcony overlooking the harbour. Staff were friendly, especially the reception and bar staff. Restaurant food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely return!

Liked modern pool area, and clean and spacious lobby. Fantastic views from the balcony over the port area. Attached shop was convenient for snacks and supplies.

La chambre n’était pas en adéquation avec ce que j’ai réservé. Ni thé ni café dans la chambre, ni télévision dans la chambre, ni kleenex dans la salle de bains. J’ai réservé et payé pour 3 personnes, était prévu 1 grand lit et 2 lits 1 place. On nous a donné 1 grand lit et 1 lit 1 place. L’hôtel correspond à un 2 étoiles et non 4 étoiles. Très déçue

This is our third stay a the Athineon and definitely won't be our last. Great hotel in a great location. Fabulous pool that never gets too busy so none of the dreaded booking sunbeds. Super helpful staff. Only negative for us was that they couldn't accommodate our request for a fourth floor harbour facing room. Otherwise, can't wait to visit again.

Hotel is nice and clean. The service was not up to standard. I booked a room with breakfast however that wasn’t honoured. I asked the reception and the lady informed me that free breakfast only applies to bookings of 3 nights or more. This was not stated on Expedia or communicated earlier, the listing still states breakfast is included with the room. Having stayed at 100s of hotels worldwide I was really disappointed and have raised this with the hotel and Expedia.

We stayed at the Athineon Hotel for 3 nights and I cannot recommend enough. Lovely big rooms, super friendly staff, close to the beach and the old town. I will definitely book again as we are hoping to return to Rhodes next year. Thank you so much for making our stay so special.

Great hotel for a family holiday

We were traveling as a family with teenagers. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious, pool area was big enough. Breakfast was good. Great location near the Old Town.

Séjour de 4 nuits dans cet hôtel très proche de la vieille ville et de ces fortifications. Appartement spacieux, confortable munit d’une bonne cuisine. Un bonjour spécial à celle qui s’occupe du petit déjeuner 😉. Je retournerai dans cet hôtel avec plaisir en fin de saison👍.

Good location. Large apartment, but the kichen was not stocked well if you wanted to cook anything. There were no cleaning supplies so you couldn't wash your dishes and housekeeping didn't wash them either. The breakfast was good and the young lady who worked in the breakfast area was very nice, so was the bartender. The front desk people were indifferent. The hotel is dated, and the carpet in the hallways were very worn, and appeared to have mold on them.

No sound proofing on front door and it wake everyone when you close it. Bathrooms in need of modernisation

The hotel is in a great location for who wants to visit Rhodes Old Town. Good area for walking and restaurants too. It's also relatively close to the airport, so it's convenient if your flight arrives late and you decide to continue your journey the next day. Rooms are large and convenient for a family that wants privacy. We didn't use the kitchen, but it seems to have what it is needed for quick meals. The breakfast is very simple, not really meeting the standard of a 4 star hotel or even a 3 star hotel. Although spacious and comfortable (quality bed and pillows, except for those who sleep in the living room), the rooms are quite outdated and require maintenance. The bathroom is small, especially the bathtub with shower and curtain. The pool area is very nice, but be aware that it can only be used during very restricted hours (10am-6pm). We were hoping to use it after the tours, but we didn't have time. You can park for free on the street. The best thing about the hotel was the pool bar. Extremely well made drinks, great quality and at a very attractive price (on average EUR 6).

Excellent staff. From Reception to Maintenance, Cleaning Ladies, Barmen, Restaurant Staff. Local beach is NOT a beach, it's a coast line. 20 minutes walk to Zephyros or 30 minutes walk to Eli Beach (or 7 euros cab).

Less than a 5 minute walk to Rhodes Town where there's bars, restaurants, shops and night life. Right across from the port where you take the ferries to other parts of Greece/Turkey. 25 mins from airport. Clean big rooms and a really nice bar and pool. Woman at front desk was super helpful and pleasant.

Good with some limitations

Spacious apartment near the city walls. Near to the port but quite a walk to Elli beach. We liked staying here but there were some flaws. The best aspect was the large pool, although it wasn't heated, and the pool bar set up was good. However, food options were not available after the pool shut in the evening.The view from the balcony was of the pool and other apartments, some not fully built. Housekeeping was largely restricted to a change of towels and emptying the bins. A strange aspect was having nothing other than sheets, which is fine for summer but a bit cold in autumn. On the last day we were allowed to leave luggage in the foyer but there was no access to our room, despite the hotel being practically empty.

Lovely hotel within easy walking distance to the old town and harbour area. Lots of restaurants & bars to choose from. Only downside is that is next to a busy road so a bit traffic noise. Not really an issue though.

5 stjerner på Hotels, men det er nærmere 3 stjerner (prisen passer til 3 stjerner). Vi var en nat på hotellet og kigger vi på pris, beliggenhed og pool, så var det ok. Hotellet kan med fordel kigge på de slidte værelser og putte lys på balkonen.

This hotel is ideally suited just outside of the Old Rhodes Town walls. It has seen better days, but is extremely clean. The staff were five-star in every way. Happy to help, and always with a smile. We found it very convenient walking into restaurants,And the other Rhodes town attractions. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic break

Just back from a 1 week last minute rearranged trip Due to COVID and what a find.Great location just outside the old town 15 min walk approx. All staff were very friendly and helpful and have Worked together and been at the hotel for many years. Room was a great size for two people. All areas of the hotel were spotless. Appropriate ppe was worn by all staff. The pool was beautiful and was an excellent size and exceptionally clean. Breakfast offered good value for money which we were happy with. Some people may expect more variety but are they prepared to pay more? The other guests were of mixed age group and some of them were repeat business over many years. As stated all staff were extremely friendly and helpful but we must give a special mention to Johnny the bar man. He really went out of his way to provide knowledgeable advice on local restaurants, local wine, beaches, bus trips and the history of the island. He also Served a fantastic cosmopolitan cocktail to my partner. When returning to Rhodes this will be our first choice. We Will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Brilliant hotel. Bar and food value for money was good. Room bins emptied daily and towells were changed every couple of days. We will definately return to this hotel when visiting Rhodes again

Great location and spacious comfortable room.

Hotel is excellently located, near to the main tourist port and just outside the walls of the old town. The hotel was spotlessly clean. We were only there for 1 night, but I would definitely stay there again when next in Rhodes. The staff at the front desk were efficient and professional and there was good evidence throughout the hotel of covid 19 preventative measures. The hotel room was apartment style and was very spacious, which suited us well as we were a family of 2 adults and 1 teenager. For the price we paid, it represented excellent value for money. There is a nice swimming pool, which unfortunately we didn't have time to use.

Super Appartment Hotel am Rande zur Altstadt

Das Hotel liegt direkt an den Toren zur Altstadt und damit perfekt um diese zu erkunden. Das Parken auf der Straße war kein Problem. Die Appartments sind sehr geräumig und super sauber. Die Betten waren hervorragend und auch der Pool ist wirklich schön. Falls ich nochmal nach Rhodos kommen sollte, dann würde ich wieder dort übernachten.

fantastic for the money

I would say value for money was great. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere by pool with friendly open bar. Nice and light buffet breakfast included in my price deal. 5 minutes walk into entrance of Rhodes old town which is beautuful, 20 minutes stroll to lively Eli beach which is also beautuful at night. Rooms are actually a 1 bedroom apartment with small kitchenette, seperate lounge and large balcony. Great for a couple. Super king sized very comfortable bed. Chrisp white linen and towels with dressing gown included. Yes the decor is tired in places and could fo with a bit of moderrnising and the furnishings are basic but hey you will have an extra £500 to enjoy your holiday compared to a modern modern hotel. Its a no brainer. If you want 5 star pay for it as this isnt but you always get what you pay for. One tip is prices vary on booking sites you must check all of them before booking. My deal was fantastic 👍👍👍

Aufenthalt im Oktober 2019 Sehr angenehm ist die Aufteilung der Appartements mit zwei getrennten Zimmern (Schlafzimmer und Wohnzimmer), gesonderte kleine Küche im Vorraum und Balkon. Das Hotel ist sauber und ordentlich, bedarf aber wohl mal einer grundlegenden Renovierung (z.B. Teppiche im Flur abgenutzt, Fliesenfugen und Türen und Griffe im Bad). Das Personal ist korrekt und zurückhaltend, könnte aber teilweise freundlicher sein. Insgesamt aber Preis/Leistung angemessen.

The property was in a great location for the old city and a walk to the new town. Staff were very helpful especially Mika, John and Kostas. I would recommend this hotel and would book again when returning to Rhodes

we komen hier al een aantal jaren en het is een geweldige accommodatie. het is er schoon ,de appartementen zijn groot, het is er gemoedelijk ,kleinschalig,met veel aandacht voor de gasten, Het is dicht bij de oude stad en de supermarkt is om de hoek. Wij hebben weer een heerlijke vakantie gehad en komen zeker hier weer terug!!!!

We loved our room looking out over the harbour. A new view every day and the ships coming and going. It is a great location by the old town but not on the middle of the big tourist areas. The staff were friendly. Excellent value.

Nice hotel in convenient Old Town location

Stayed for 4 nights, two adults and two children. My wife and I really liked this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was good for exploring the old town. Kids loved the pool. Yes, if you’re really fussy the rooms may be slightly dated, but the rest of the hotel makes up for it. I would stay there again if visiting Rhodes in the future.

The hotel is in a great location so close to the Old Town but the property is in need of renovation. It’s worn down. The bathroom was so uncomfortable and we kept having leaking issues from the faucet. It’s a hotel close to a beach and no way for you to wash your own clothes or nearby services to do yourself así found inconvenient. The staff is nice, front desk very nice and professional but the facility itself is a older hotel. However if your looking for convenience to be close to old town and hotel room amenities and look doesn’t need to be updated then go for it.

Bar tender at late night check in was fantastic. In the AM, they were very eager for us to get out of room so it could be cleaned. We would have liked a later check out given very late arrival. Overall a nice experience.

Dejligt sted.

Vi var de første på hotellet i år. Det betyder at vi naturligvis kunne løbe ind i kolde aftener. Det gjorde vi, og det var meget koldt. Desværre var der ikke mulighed for at få airconditionanlægget til at varme. Så vi frøs faktisk om natten. Vi fik ekstra tæpper af det venlige personale. Hotellet som sådan kan der ikke sættes fingre på ellers. Venlige mennesker, gode faciliteter og ekstremt rent overalt.

Die Lage des Hotel ist sehr gut, von hier aus erreicht man die Altstadt in ca. 5 min. Die Einrichtung des Apartments ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es ist alles sehr sauber und funktionstüchtig. Die Betten sind auch sehr gut. Wir haben 8 sehr angenehme Tage hier verbracht.

We enjoyed a lovely two week break here

Spacious room, comfortable large bed, nice pool with wooden decking, very friendly bar staff Costa, Jonny and Panos. Cosy hotel and convenient getting from room to pool. Good location very short walk to old town restaurants and Spar not far. Only negatives odd things like american coffee and things in shop a little expensive and bar snack menu could do with more variety.

Kind people at reception and in the bar. Close to the old city and only15 minutes from the quiet beach.

Good location close to Old Town

Good sized apartment with balcony although it really could do with a bit of a refurbishment. Cooking utensils were ok but only two hotplates makes any cooking limited. There was a kettle, coffee machine and fridge. A microwave would be a great addition! Pool is good although again the sun beds need updating. The bar area is good and the evening bar tender is fabulous. Breakfast was ok but extremely repetitive. Tinned peaches every single day so some variety here would be a big improvement. Location is great close to the harbour and Old Town with its numerous bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Easily walkable in ten minutes. We hired a car for 3 days and bikes for 1 day and thought we saw all of the main island attractions as a result.

Second time as good as the first time!

The second time we stayed here. It's a nice hotel with friendly staff. The bar and the pool area is great, but is starting to get a bit outdated. We would love to come back and are enjoying the perfect location for exploring the old town.

Beside the Medieval City and beside the harbour, this is a great family orientated hotel for Rhodes City.

Fantastic hotel

The Athineon was exactly as it appeared on the website. Location was fantastic. Very quiet at night but a short walk into the old town which was stunning. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Rhodes and this hotel. Only negative comments I would make are the lack of equipment in the kitchen and the fact that the WiFi was unreliable. Otherwise this hotel was well above average.

Wonderful people everywhere: reception, restaurant, mini market, room maintenance staff... very happy BUT PLEASE... try to make your wifi better... very slow, and very spotty

Great location for the Old Town

Great accommodation it was basic but clean and functional. Loved the pool and the staff where really friendly.

Spacious apartment but air conditioning not working. On fifth floor. elevator only goes up to 4th- had to carry suitcases up and down the stairs ourselves

ВСе прекрасно! Чуть-чуть не понравилась общение на рецепции: при недостаточном знании английского - единственное место, где подошли формально к понятию гостеприимство, не придраться, но есть вопрос, то есть и ответ. Не было желания помочь( Но в целом, замечательно!!!

Ghetto lignede tilstand.

Værelserne var lidt sløve og lugtede af urin, området var fuldstændig faldefærdigt og meget støjende. Der boede hjemløse i den tomme bygning ved siden af som vi havde udsigt til, jamen nej det var faktisk så skidt jeg overvejer aldrig at bruge hotels.com igen. Poolen og baren var god, bruseområdet området før poolen stank af tis.

I don’t normally give reviews on anything but this hotel was absolutely horrible. I recommend anyone that is looking to visit this area to stay at any other hotel. Everything about this hotel was horrible besides the location to old town roads and Newtown Road which is walking distance.
