Atención y servicios inmejorables

Estuvimos muy bien en este alojamiento y aunque tuvimos un problema al llegar por no haber ido por el camino correcto, el propietario buscó todo lo necesario para solucionarlo, llamando a un vecino para que viniera a rescatar nuestro coche de un camino de tractores en el que nos metimos por error. Además nos facilitó información muy útil para disfrutar la Toscana durante los días que estuvimos allí sobre pueblos a visitar, restaurantes, rutas óptimas.......muy recomendable y seguro que volveremos

Lovely place and staff

Took a wonderful cooking class and met new friends. I absolutely loved the extra virgin olive oil that they produce and sell! Wonderful people!

House hotel

We Made Reservation for dinner and it was delicious, the owner cook and served to us. Wines are great! Room was a little bit small for 2 adults and 1 kid, no TV and you have to take a few stairs to get to your room. Rooms are clean and service perfect. During winter you cannot be outside, the best option is to drive to the town.

Host was very helpful, kind and thoughtful We dined one night there and it was very good and not expensive. It was a little remote and took some driving to get too sites and other places to eat

Fulvio was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in directing us to parking and restaurants. He prepared and served gourmet meals. His knowledge of cooking and food preparation was outstanding. I recommend that anyone who stays here reserve at least one night for dinner. You will not be disappointed.

One night of joy

We are on a roadtrip through Tuscany and sadly could only stay one night. Our room was super comfy with a lovely Tuscan villa feel. A beautiful view out towards San Gimignano. We didn't have breakfast but had a delicious coffee made for us which was had in our room. The added bonus of being able to buy some delicious Olive Oil that was locally produced on their farm. Would definitely stay again.

Authentic

Our 4 night stay at Il Vicario turned out to be the highlight of our recent 10 day trip to Italy. After manic Rome the clichéd Fiat 500 drive from Florence to Il Vicario hinted at the magic we were about to experience. Each twist of the Tuscan road presented a postcard worthy view of the countryside that took our breath away. The reward at the end of this journey was the gem, Il Vicario, nestled in the shadow of San Gimignano between working vineyards and olive groves. The old vicary has been beautifully transformed by Fulvio and his niece Katia into a neat and charming bed and breakfast that retains its Tuscan character and style. Fulvio’s extensive knowledge of the region made for the perfect day trips. The cooking class with Katia instilled in us the knowledge and appreciation of Italian cooking and is a must. Amazing and genuine hosts coupled with homely accommodation in a beautiful setting makes Il Vicario a must for those that want an authentic Tuscan holiday coupled with great food and wine. Grazie mille per tutto, Fulvio and Katia. We hope to visit again one day.

Lovely stay in the Tuscan hills.

A lovely place in the Tuscan hills away from the crowds of San Gimignano It has lots of character, beautiful outdoor seating, and welcoming hosts. We didn't sign up for the cooking class but those who did loved it and said it was the best meal they had in Tuscany!

The staff were very friendly and the owner cooked and spent lots of time with the guests. A very homelike setting

Heel goede service, lerker eten, niet erg verzorgd

Bijzonder vriendelijke, hulpzame mensen. Lekker ontbijt. Mooie kamers. Helaas groeit er overal onkruid tussen de stenen, zowel op het ontbijtterras en aan het zwembad. Een verfrissingsblokje in het toilet op de kamer zou aan te raden zijn.

Vi var 4 på rejse og havde lejet to “værelser” som viste sig at være to store lejligheder. Bedste beliggenhed, dejlige og rene lejligheder og fin kontakt med “receptionisten” som var der efter aftale ifm ind- og udtjekning

Maravilhoso Hotel!!!

Fomos excepcionalmente recebidos pelo Fulvio. Nos sentimos como membros da família. Sorridente e com duas taças de vinho que nos conquistaram nos primeiros minutos. As acomodações são excelentes quartos personalizados e cheios de charme. É o meu hotel em San Gimignano.

Best authentic, Italian experience!!!

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience...LOOK NO FURTHER!! Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, this b&b truly has everything we could have dreamt for. The owners were outstanding and treated us like we were family. The b&b itself felt so authentic and cozy and it was nice to get out of the busy cities for a few days. The food was impeccable (best we’ve had while on our two week trip), the views were breathtaking, and the cooking class they offer was such a wonderful experience. I can’t say enough great things about this spot. We definitely left a piece of our hearts there!

We were welcomed warmly and immediately felt relaxed. Fulvio and Katia were excellent hosts. It is in a good location for touring and has far reaching, spectacular views of the beautiful countryside from the windows of our spacious and clean, rustic accommodation. There was no air conditioning which we already knew but a fan was placed in the bedroom. They gave us helpful information about how to navigate the roads and places to visit. I also completed a cooking course which I found very enjoyable and informative. The pool area was a little untidy. I would also recommend plenty of bug spray. I always get bitten by water. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to friends and family and May well go back there again one day.

Fulvio is an excellent host, his hotel is in a beautiful location, very close to San Gimignano. Centrally located between many amazing sights, Fulvio was a charming host who provided outstanding food and wine. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Will definitely return again soon.

Prefect location in the Tuscan Countryside

Made very welcome by the owner and his niece, Fulvio and Katia, very helpful, and met all our needs. Food excellent, cooking class highly recommended. Their knowledge of the Tuscan ares is exceptional and their are very willing to share this. We loved are stay with them and are already planning our next stay at II Vicario.

Relax e cortesia. Una struttura semplice ma accogliente e genuina. Fulvio sempre disponibile con i suoi consigli e suggerimenti per escursioni nel senese ed oltre. Un luogo ideale per una vacanza di relax nella natura e nell'unicità delle colline toscane.

Beautiful villa with top notch service

Il Vicario is a beautiful 17th century villa surrounded by vineyards and a lovely pool. The room was nice and even though it had antiques as furniture, it felt very updated. We woke up to the sound of roosters cockle-doodle-doing. Instead of bothering me, it made me laugh and realize how far out in the country we were. It was very peaceful. The owner Martin was so helpful and offered to help us get a taxi, directions to our next town, printed maps for us, provided a wonderful breakfast and then agreed to mail us some clothing we accidentally left in our room. So service was top notch!! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Disappointing

We didn't take up our reservation as Il Vicario was unkempt, unwelcoming. It didn't look anything like its photos. Courtyard, kitchen and elsewhere messy and shoddy. Pool area unloved and alive with ants. Someone appeared briefly then didn't return despite us calling for them. Also the house is attached to a builders yard with lorries backing into it. The person we saw briefly didn't seem at all interested in whether we stayed or went. Not a suitable place for a family. We were two grandparents,two parents, and three children. Maybe suitable for backpackers, hikers or young people. We felt there may have been some disruption in the personal or business life of the partners by the state of the hotel.

Très bon accueil, et très bel endroit

La maison fait partie d'un petit hameau à quelques minutes de San Gimignano que l'on aperçoit au loin. Elle est très bien rénovée avec goût et raffinement. La chambre est petite mais très confortable, comme la salle de bain. L'endroit est calme. On peut profiter de la piscine, c'est délicieux quand il fait 35°. Le soir, le propriétaire nous a préparé un dîner excellent avec pour chaque plat un verre de vin différent mais toujours de la région. Ce fut vraiment un beau moment.

Apesar do hotel não estar no centro da cidade, se mostrou uma boa opção de hospedagem. Para quem está de carro, não tem problema, em 10min está no centro Atendimento muito bom, ambiente familiar, bem cordial.

В отеле в день нашего заезда случилась непредвиденная ситуация. Один из постояльцев сильно заболел и они не могли освободить номер, который был забронирован нами. Вместо этого нам предложили другой отель, того же направления и ценовой категории совсем рядом. Нас все устроило. Даже поставили кроватку для полутора годовалого ребенка.

Hotel rooms and the view was amazing. Hotel staff was also very friendly. The breakfast is also an added positive on the overall experience. Our only complaint was the fact that there was no internet available during our 3 day stay.

Wir hatten leider nur eine Nacht dort, aber den perfekten letzten Abend unserer Italien Reise dort!

Stayed at il Vicario for two nights. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We had an apartment with a separate kitchenette, living and dining area. The view of the Tuscan region is marvelous. Breakfast was served every morning, with a traditional Italian fare of salami, cheese, melons etc. Very quiet, recommend it for couples, families as well as friends traveling together.

Fantastic taste of Tuscany

The accommodations were very nice. The room was spacious, clean, and quaint. It was quiet and had an excellent air-conditioning and heating system. The location was perfect being 15 min San Gimignano. Fulvio and Katia were outstanding hosts. They offered wine upon arrival, itineraries for local visits, and suggestions for restaurants. Fulvio had a great sense of humor. Katia's cooking class was fun and delicious. The truffle hunt they helped arrange was amazing. The entire experience really gave you a feeling for the region of Tuscany. We highly recommend this place.

What a wonderful stay at Il Vicario!

We absolutely loved it here. My guy and I were celebrating our anniversary as well as my birthday and we chose Il Vicario as a home base. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew we were in for a treat. We preferred a sunny room versus a private room and Katia was so gracious and immediately made the switch. She then proceeded us to pour us a welcomed glass of wine and some wonderful bruschetta...we met Fulvio the next morning and he was our "go to" guide for the rest of the week. He seemed to pick up quickly what we would like and all his choices were spot on. The room itself was clean and spacious and you could really feel the history of this 14th century home...We also enjoyed a home cooked meal one night with Fulvio cooking as well as a highly spirited cooking class with friends are last night...let's just say that Katia had the patience of a saint...I would highly recommend this lovely place!

The B&B was just great the two cooking classes with Katia were fun and the experience was above expectation.

Charmigt hotell med supertrevlig personal

Hotellet ligger jättefint uppe på en kulle ca 2,5km från San Gimignano. Det är lugnt och rofyllt och vi hade poolen nästan helt för oss själva. En kväll ordnade personalen en middag för alla boende (ca 12 pers), det var riktigt gott! Det var bland annat egengjord pasta och lokala viner. Der var verkligen supertrevligt att bo här och vi hade inget att klaga på. Tips kan vara att ha bil då det annars kan bli rätt långt att gå mellan de olika små byarna.

San Gimignano

Franca, mother of Katia and sister of Falvio is a delightful lady who communicates well even though she speaks no English. She really made are arrival memorable. Fulvio and Katia are so accommodating and hard working. I enjoyed the cooking class with Katia which was scheduled last minute and Fulvio made sure that all are needs were met each day. He gave us suggestions for sightseeing and made us feel like family.

We were travelling around Tuscany and booked this hotel in advance. Had we known jow nice it would be before our itinerary was agreed, we would have stayed longer.

Amazing Tuscany!

The B&B is very charming, wonderfully decorated and Katia is so welcoming. We took a cooking class from Fulvio that was so much fun! We learned a lot and were surprised that we could master some Tuscan recipes. Fulvio made us laugh and feel like family as we were cooking in his kitchen. I highly recommend both the cooking class and the B&B. You won't be disappointed.

Liebevoll eingerichtetes und auch so geführtes kleines Hotel. Die Gastgeber sind super nett und ehrlich. Am beeindruckensten aber ist die Bilderbuch-Toskana direkt ums Haus. Nach nur 100m Fußweg wird man mit einem Panorama-Blick auf San Gimignano und Oliven und Weinberge beschenkt, den man nie mehr loslassen kann...
